Spinfluid Phase Transitions

We start with the spinfluid: a nearly-homogeneous, 8-spinor medium, with small local spin(4,C) eddies and twists. As it expends, these seed a raft of intersecting codimension J singularities: a spinfoam, Σ. As Σ expands, the energy trapped in each (4 − J) brane varies as γ , where γ(t) ≡ a(t) a# is the scale factor. Summing on J = (0, 1, 2, 3, 4) creates a quartic dilation potential V (nJ ; γ) ∼ nJγ J , with either 1 or 2 minima: preferred length and mass scales. Σ expands forever for n4 < 0, but recontracts for n4 > 0. To quantize Σ, we take a canonical ensemble Σ̂ of spinfoams, with mean J-brane populations NJ immersed in a heat bath of N0 vacuum spinors, whose microstates vastly outnumber the matter states. Its evolution is governed by a free energy g(N; γ). This admits phase transitions at two critical scales , γ1 and γ3,separated by a triple point, γ2. Their critical droplets correspond to the varieties of leptons and hadrons, respectively. We identify γ1 as inflation, γ2 as decoupling, γ3 as baryogenesis; and the heat bath of vacuum spinors as dark energy.
